Priscilla is born on this day in Brooklyn. Priscilla met Elvis in Germany, when the singer was serving his time in the army and Priscilla was a teenager living with her father, an American military officer. Elvis later asked her father's permission for Priscilla to finish her high school years in Memphis, living at Graceland under the strict supervision of Elvis' father. The couple married in 1967 and had one daughter, Lisa Marie. They divorced in 1973.

Flavor Flav Picks His Queen

On the season finale of Flavor of Love 3, Flav picked Thing 2. He had eliminated her the week before, then he took the remaining girls to Cannes. But He thought he made a mistake by getting rid of her so he flew her out there. In the end he chose Thing 2. The previews for the reunion show on Sunday show Flav getting down on one knee and asking someone to marry him. Which one is it? I have read a few stories that say he has'nt been that close with Thing 2, So I think he might have hooked up with "Black" again. We'll have to wait till sunday to find out, but I say Thing 2 is out the back door.

Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz Get Married
Saturday May 17, 2008, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married under tents and amid tight security. The ceremony was held in the backyard of Joe and Tina Simpson, decorated in an Alice in Wonderland theme. Ashlee wore an ivory Monique Lhuillier gown with a veil for the ceremony, and the bridesmaids wore black Vera Wang dresses. The men wore black tuxes with skinny black ties. Guests had been asked to wear dark clothing, and most everyone did, with attire ranging from black jeans and sports coats, to fancy black tuxes and dresses. It has also been confirmed that Ashlee and Pete are expecting their first child. Good Luck to them.

Bunny Update
This was taken a few days after we rescued them, so cute.
This was a couple days later,
And this was taken today, they finally have their eyes open and they are getting so much bigger. they still hide in their hole, and the mother bunny comes to feed them, so they havent come out yet on their own. but arent they just the cutest things. originally there were five, but only two have survived, and i believe that none of them would have lived if we didn't help them. So I think we did a good deed.

Bunny Rescue
The other day we noticed a rabbit had nested in our backyard. She dug a small hole and had her baby bunnies in it and then covered them with her fur and grass. We gently lifted up the grass covering to look inside the small hole and saw at least four teeny tiny bunnies all huddled together. They were no more than 1 inch long and hairless, their eyes were still shut and they looked like little rats, not too cute yet. But we left them alone to let their mother feed and take care of them until they were able to come out of their hole. Well the next day our lawn service came and mowed the lawn so we thought those poor little bunnies were mulch now, but luckily they survived. The lawn mower must not be set too low and they were probably way down in the hole. So they survived one almost tragedy. Day two, here comes the rain, oh shit these poor bunnies, my backyard is starting to flood, do we leave it up to nature and survival of the fittest to see if they can make it. Well me & my husband went out in the cold rain and the dark to see how these poor things were holding up. We held a flash towards the flooded hole and saw these tiny bunny noses trying to breathe in distress, it was heartbreaking, we couldnt leave them out there to drown. So we got a small box and lined it with socks for warmth and put on some gloves. My husband gently scooped out the baby bunnies and layed them in the box, it turned out that there were five of them. We layed the grass and fur covering on top of the box and brought them in the house. We had read on the internet that the mother will still come back to take care of them as long as you put them back in or near the same spot they were laying. In the morning I took them back to their hole and placed them in, they were so cute and hungry, I could hear them squealing ever so quietly. Soon after that I saw the mother come to them and start feeding them, It felt so good to think that maybe we saved these poor little things for now. It seems that they have a lot of hardships to endure if they are going to survive.

Elvis Meets Nixon

Did you know the most requested photograph from the National Archives is the photograph of Elvis Presley and Richard M. Nixon shaking hands on the occasion of Presley's visit to the White House. That item is more requested than the Bill of Rights or even the Constitution of the United States. The meeting took place on Dec.21, 1970. This was the only picture I ever saw of that meeting, but there are actually 28 pictures that were taken that day. They are pretty cool, if you haven't seen them either, go & check them out-http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/nsa/elvis/elnix.html#photo
You can also read the documents and letters written by Elvis to Nixon. Elvis wanted Nixon to appoint him as a "Federal Agent at Large". He thought he could lend his notoriety as an entertainer to help the government somehow. Elvis was staying at the Washington Hotel under the name of Jon Burrows, with 2 of his "Memphis Mafia", and he claimed he would stay there until he was able to meet with Nixon.

Coolest Pumpkins I've Ever Seen!!
I know it's only April but I came across this site today and I thought it was the coolest shit I've seen! These are actual pumpkins that someone carved and they look so good, don't you think. I have used the patterns before and they do really come out good, but I've never done an actual persons face. So this year, guess who I'm going to try and carve. This was the site in case you want to check it out. http://www.fabulousfoods.com/holidays/halloween/pumpplans2.html. I have some friends who start planning their halloween party in January. And of course if you plan on planting your own crop of pumpkins you had better get them in the ground soon. Halloween is my favorite holiday, maybe because my birthday is the next day (all saints day) and as a kid I would have big parties and so it just reminds me of those good times. But I also love the changing colors of the trees and orange is my favorite color.

Tax Rebate Checks to go out Early, Yay!!!
I just read this and thought everybody would love to hear about a possible check coming to you.
Those of you eagerly awaiting your tax rebate checks will rejoice at the Treasury Department's announcement that they're depositing the checks ahead of schedule. Their original announcement stated that May 2 would be rebate check opening day, but they've updated their schedule with the early start date of Monday, April 28.
If the IRS has your direct deposit information then your check will be deposited earlier than those who will receive their check in the mail. However, the mailed checks will also be sent a week ahead of schedule and mailings will begin on May 9. All rebates will be distributed according to the last two digits of your social security number as originally stated. While the IRS hasn't come out with a new schedule, I've updated their old one to reflect the newly announced dates.

Wesley Snipes gets 3 years for Tax Evasion
I don't like to say he got what he deserved, but....what makes him think he is above the law and every other tax paying person. I don't think anyone is thrilled to have to pay taxes but we do because we know we have to. Not to mention the fact that he makes a lot of money and yes he has to pay a lot more in taxes but at least he should be prepared for that and get a good lawyer and accountant to help you figure things out.
Judge sentences Snipes to 3 years for tax convictions.
Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison on tax charges Thursday, a victory for prosecutors who sought to make an example of the action star by aggressively pursuing the maximum penalty.
Snipes' lawyers had spent much of the day in court offering dozens of letters from family members, friends even fellow actors Woody Harrelson and Denzel Washington attesting to the good character of the "Blade" star and asking for leniency. They argued he should get only probation because his three convictions were all misdemeanors and the actor had no previous criminal record.
But U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges said Snipes exhibited a "history of contempt over a period of time" for U.S. tax laws, and granted prosecutors the three year sentence they requested one year for each of Snipes' convictions of willfully failing to file a tax return.
"In my mind these are serious crimes, albeit misdemeanors," Hodges said.
Snipes apologized while reading from a written statement for his "costly mistakes," but never mentioned the word taxes.
"I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance," Snipes said.
Snipes said his wealth and celebrity attracted "wolves and jackals like flies are attracted to meat." He called himself "well-intentioned, but miseducated."
Snipes was the highest-profile criminal tax target in years, and prosecutors called for a heavy sentence to deter others from trying to obstruct the IRS. The government alleged Snipes made at least $13.8 million for the years in question and owed $2.7 million in back taxes.
Snipes was acquitted in February of five additional charges, including felony tax fraud and conspiracy. Snipes' co-defendants, Douglas P. Rosile and Eddie Ray Kahn, were convicted on both those counts. Kahn, who refused to defend himself in court, was sentenced to 10 years, while Rosile received 54 months. Both will serve three years of supervised release. Snipes will serve one year of supervised release.
Snipes and Rosile remain free and will be notified when they are to surrender to authorities.
Kahn was the founder of American Rights Litigators, and a successor group, Guiding Light of God Ministries, that purported to help members legally avoid paying taxes. Rosile, a former accountant who lost his licenses in Ohio and Florida, prepared Snipes' paperwork. Snipes maintained in a years-long battle with the IRS he did not have to pay taxes, using fringe arguments common to "tax protesters" who say the government has no legal right to collect. After joining Kahn's group, the government said Snipes instructed his employees to stop paying their own taxes and sought $11 million in 1996 and 1997 taxes he legally paid.
Prosecutors sought to justify the maximum sentence by raising those and other details from the IRS investigation, as well as a tax loss even for years in which Snipes was acquitted of failing to file a return. Such "relevant conduct" is allowed by law for a judge's consideration at sentencing.
Criminal tax prosecutions are relatively rare usually the cases are handled in civil court, where the government has a lower burden of proof. Prosecutors said Snipes' case was important to send a message to would-be tax protesters not to test the government.

Earthquake In Chicago!!!!!
On Friday April 18, 2008, there was an earthquake in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Now heres the funny thing, we didn't feel anything, but my next door neighbor claims her house was shaking and things were falling off the shelfs that it woke her up. Does she have a poltergeist or are we such heavy sleepers? Well that seems to be the same story with other people I've asked, some felt it some didn't. Oh well.
Heres the official story-
The magnitude 5.2 earthquake that rocked the Midwest on Friday was felt from Kansas to Georgia, and aftershocks could continue for months at this strange seismic zone at the nation's center and even trigger another big quake, a geophysicist said. The quake occurred on a northern extension of the New Madrid fault, about 6 miles north of Mt. Carmel, Ill. The New Madrid fault was responsible for devastating quakes in the Mississippi Valley in 1811 and 1812. So the Friday quake and its aftershocks likely are raising the blood pressure of some residents and scientists. For decades, scientists have debated whether and when the underlying fault could generate another temblor of similar and deadly strength.
The last earthquake in the region to approach the severity of Friday's temblor was a 5.0 magnitude quake that shook a nearby area in 2002, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. An event actually surpassing today's magnitude last occurred in 1968, a magnitude 5.3 quake that was felt in 23 states, said Forte.

My Chicago Skyline

My husband & I were cruising down Lake Shore drive in downtown Chicago and so I snapped a couple of cool pix out from the car window. As you drive along and see all the tall buildings start coming into view it's pretty amazing. The John Hancock bldg is impressive and the Lake Point Towers is a wavy shaped condo bldg with a restaurant at the top.

Houdini at Graceland?

My father-in-law found this bit of news for me on a site called Elvis.com, I think it's quite funny. It lists celebrities who have visited Graceland and Houdini was listed on it. Now that's interesting because Harry Houdini died in 1926. Graceland wasn't even built until 1939. Elvis bought it back in 1957. So was it the ghost of Houdini who visited. Houdini died on halloween night 1926 and for years people have been holding seances trying to call him back, his wife had said they came up with a secret code that he would give if he ever broke through to the other side. His wife Bess died Feb. 1943. In Houdinis' lifetime he had debunked a lot of people who had claimed to be psychics, he was trying to contact his mother who had passed away. Houdini had an interesting life and if you want to read more about him this site is really good-http://www.houdinitribute.com/houdini.html. The Elvis.com site is good also but I think they need to check their facts first. They list a lot of people they claim to have visited and I'm not sure it's accurate. Do you think Elvis and Houdini are hanging out together haunting Graceland?

Priscilla Presley Gets the Boot on DWTS

Well Priscilla was booted out of dancing with the stars last night. Too bad, I think she did a wonderful job. Even though she was the oldest contestant, she tried as hard as the younger ones. I even felt bad for her because going on the show gave everyone watching a chance to see her after her bad plastic surgery. I'm sure it had to hurt her feelings in some way knowing that everyone was talking about her and not in a good way. So in my opinion, I think she handled the whole situation with a lot of dignity. I give her a lot of kudos! So that's it for me tuning in to watch that show, I think Kristie yamaguci will probably win, and she has done a good job, but I really don't care who wins.

Rock of Love 2 Shocker

For anyone who watched the show Rock of Love 2 with Bret Michaels is probably not shocked to hear that the romance didn't last very long. Bret Michaels announced today that finding true love from a reality TV show might be more difficult than he originally thought. Although Michaels said in an interview with the Associated Press, that his final pick Ambre Lake is a really nice, cool chick, that gets rock 'n' roll, he's not sure she's the right one for him. Lake, an actress, won out over Daisy de la Hoya, a singer and niece of Oscar de la Hoya. I don't think it would have lasted with any of the girls that were on the show. But the season finale just aired on Sunday night, and Bret gave the interview Monday, so that was a really quick romance. Oh poor guy, will he ever find true love, doubtful if he keeps looking for it on tv. But I think the previews for the reunion show this sunday night look really good. Lots of chicks fighting and pulling fake hair. Too funny!
Graceland

Being a big Elvis fan, you would have thought that I would have already gone to visit Graceland. Well I havent been there yet. But that is going to be our next trip. The funny thing is that before my husband came up here he lived in Memphis and went to Graceland. He had said to me that he was going to write his name on the wall and I said no don't do that, but he explained to me that people do that and it's like a memorial thing. So now we plan to go there together and write our names on the wall and tour the house and everything else you can do. So many people that I know who have gone there have told me that it was not what they were expecting. It's kind of small and in a bad area of town, and the tour itself wasn't that great, you can't go upstairs or certain areas of the house, but I think it's one place that I would still like to visit and be able to say that I went to Graceland to pay my respects to Elvis. Please leave me a comment or email me if you have been to graceland and maybe you wrote your name on the wall, I would love to hear your story.

Priscilla Presley & son Navarrone
On August 16, 2007 the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, Priscilla Presley, 62, and her son, Navarone Garibaldi [left in photo], 20, leave the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN.
Navarone's father is Priscilla's ex, Italian screenwriter-director Marco Garibaldi. Priscilla is also mother to Lisa Marie Presley. Theres not a lot a pictures of Priscilla's son Navarrone on the net, and a lot of people don't even know that Priscila had another child; she didn't marry his father, Marco Garibaldi, and they separated in 2006.

Elvis Themed Casino Planned For Las Vegas Strip
This was posted in The Las Vegas Sun newspaper-
Elvis Presley fans may find another reason to come to Las Vegas now that the company that owns the licensing rights to the King's name and image will continue with plans to build a casino with him in mind.
Construction on the Elvis-themed casino is planned to begin on an 18-acre site across from the CityCenter within the first few months of 2009. That depends on whether or not the company can raise the money for the $3.1 billion project despite facing debt.

Legends & Lies in Chicago's Graceland Cemetery

The most famous sculpture at Graceland Cemetery is that of Inez Clarke.
According to local legend, Inez died in 1880 at the tender age of only six. Tradition has it that she was killed during a lightning storm while on a family picnic. Her parents, stunned by the tragic loss, commissioned a life-size statue of the girl to be placed on her grave. It was completed a year later, and like many Chicago area grave sculptures, was placed in a glass box to protect it from the elements. The image remains in nearly perfect condition today. Even in death, Inez still manages to charm cemetery visitors, who discover the little girl perched on a small stool. The likeness was cast so that Inez is seen wearing her favorite dress and carrying a tiny parasol. The perfectly formed face was created with just the hint of a smile. It is not uncommon to come to the cemetery and find gifts of flowers and toys at the foot of her grave. The site has become one of the most popular places in the cemetery, for graveyard buffs and curiosity seekers alike. The stories say that the area around Inez Clarke's resting place is haunted. Not only are their stories of strange sounds heard nearby, but some claim the statue of Inez actually moves under its own power. The most disconcerting stories may be those of the disembodied weeping that is heard nearby but the most famous tales are those of the statue itself. It is said that Inez will sometimes vanish from inside of the glass box. This is said to take place during violent thunderstorms. Many years ago, a night watchman for the Pinkerton agency allegedly stated that he was making his rounds one night during a storm and discovered that the box that holds Inez was empty. He left the cemetery that night, never to return. Other guards have also reported it missing, only to find it back in place when they pass by again, or the following morning.
There are other tales that claim visitors to Graceland spot a little girl playing in the cemetery. In other cases, children who accompany their parents to the burial ground have stated that they have met a little girl wearing old-fashioned clothes playing near the monument.
Of course, there is only one problem with these stories and accounts --- no one named Inez Clarke is even buried in Graceland Cemetery! According to cemetery expert Al Walavich (as reported in the Chicago Sun-Times), there might have never been an Inez Clarke at all! One thing that he can state for sure: "Based on cemetery records there's no such person buried in that grave". He has also looked up U.S. Census records from the time and has found no indication that the child even existed.
Walavich also found a letter dated in 1910 from the woman who was supposed to have been Inez's mother that stated that the Clarkes had two daughters, both of whom were still living at the time. Perhaps the most damning bit of evidence against the existence of Inez Clarke is correspondence between the family and the cemetery, where the Clarkes were asked about the statue and the grave. They had no idea who Inez might be but noted that "it was a lovely statue". Cemetery records show that an 8 year-old boy named Amos Briggs is buried at the site marked by the eerie monument.

Johnny Depp as Public Enemy #1

Johnny Depp has been filming his new movie "Public Enemy" around the Chicago area. It's the story of John Dillinger and his gang. John Dillinger was shot and killed in 1934 after attending a screening of "Manhattan Melodrama" starring Clark Gable at the Biograph Theatre. (allegedly the ghost of Dillinger has haunted the theater ever since). I used to go to the Biograph Theatre and watch the midnight showings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show almost every weekend when I was younger, too funny. That was a blast. The seat where Dillinger supposedly sat is painted a different color (I think it's red)from the other seats and is quite easy to notice (left hand side about two thirds down, first seat off the aisle to the left). Anyway, They just finished shooting in Indiana, and now they are looking for extras to fill in for the shoots in Aurora, IL.
Public Enemies' Casting Call
They are now casting for extras for the filming
in Aurora, ILL on April 5th and 6th.
The requirements with no exceptions are:
Male extras need to be less than 6 foot 2 with a
jacket size no larger than 44 and females must
be shorter than 5 foot 8 with a dress size no
larger than 10.
Call Joan Philo Casting
(312)924-1840
Leave your name, phone number and let them know
you are calling for the Aurora shoot. Do not to call if you do not match the size requirements, because the casting agency cannot make exceptions.
They will also be shooting in Oshkosh, Wis. in mid April.

Bad Plastic Surgeries
The hot topic today seems to be about all the celebrities that are having plastic surgery done. And it stems from watching Priscilla Presley on Dancing with the stars. But there are a lot of them who have gone too far. With all the money they have you would think they would get the best work done, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I think Michael Jackson leads the freak show, and in case you can't recognize the others, they are: Barry Manilow, Bruce Jenner (of Kardashian girls fame), Mickey Rourke, Burt Reynolds and Kenny Rogers

Sad but True Stories.....pt.1
These are some strange and tragic stories I've come across-
GALVESTON, Texas - A young Texas father has been found guilty of badly injuring his infant daughter by putting her in a microwave. The verdict Tuesday means the jurors turned aside 20-year-old Joshua Mauldin's argument that he was insane. Jurors will now consider evidence on how to sentence him. He faces anywhere from probation to life in prison. Mauldin claimed he was going through a psychotic episode when he put 2-month-old Ana in a microwave for 10 to 20 seconds in May. But prosecutors said Mauldin knowingly hurt his daughter because he was angry about being stuck in a loveless marriage. Ana was badly burned and part of one ear had to be amputated. Officials say Ana is still receiving treatment but is doing well. The scar tissue and skin grafts -- as she grows, they become tight. They have to be released. So, she will always need to go to Shriners," Croxton said. "She can't spread her fingers out, so she has like a ball." Ana suffered second- and third-degree burns to her left ear, cheek, hand and shoulder and required two skin grafts. Doctors testified that Mauldin had a history of mental illness and was diagnosed with a major depressive disorder three weeks before the baby was hurt. Ana, who recently turned 1 year old, has undergone several surgeries. She faces more surgeries and will probably have future medical problems, according to doctors. She has no contact with her parents or paternal grandmother.
I say put that asshole in the microwave and see how he likes it
CHICAGO (AP) _ Chicago police say two children were injured when a loaded handgun hidden inside an oven discharged when the stove was heated for cooking. Twenty-four-year-old Anthony Smith of Chicago has been charged with two counts of endangering the life of a child. Police spokesman Marcel Bright says Smith apparently had hidden the gun in the oven. The injured children's sister was cooking Friday afternoon when the gun went off. A 4-year-old boy is in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg. His 12-year-old brother was struck on the forehead by a fragment from the gun. He has been treated and released. Smith, a convicted felon on parole, also was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
Sounds like such a nice family environment!

Priscilla Presley's botched plastic surgery

So yes it has been confirmed and all the tabloids have been reporting on this story-Priscilla Presley was treated by an unqualified doctor who was later imprisoned for injecting patients with unsafe forms of silicone.
"Priscilla Presley was one of many documented victims of [Dr. Daniel Serrano]," her rep said in a statement to Usmagazine.com.
"An investigation which uncovered his misconduct ultimately lead to his imprisonment. Ms. Presley dealt with this matter years ago and everything is well."
Serrano was imprisoned in 2006 for his malpractice.
Thank goodness she didn't wind up looking like this lady, the catwoman

My Trip to Las Vegas

I’ve only been to Vegas once. I went there in 2003. Ok, so I was expecting something totally different. But I guess it’s changed so much since the time of Elvis and Sinatra and all the other rat packers. From what I’ve heard is that all the original casinos have been torn down and replaced with bigger and better hotel casinos. It is now a family oriented vacation site. So I think that is one of the reasons I wasn’t so thrilled with the place. Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast out there, and the weather was beautiful, but I wanted the old time ambiance, and it just wasn’t there for me. I was expecting to see Elvis all over and all I saw were some really bad impersonators, not very impressive. We stayed at the Golden Nugget, It was beautiful, and I liked the fact that it was downtown. I had more fun walking around the downtown area, in and out of the smaller casinos than when we went to the strip. I’m not a gambler, but I love to play the slots, I love to hear the sound of ding ding ding, ha. But no I didn’t win. I did play the wheel of fortune slot machine and was able to keep playing for over 5 hours on the $20.00 that I put in, but the jackpot never came. Boo Hoo. But it was exciting, and I had a crowd of people hovering around me waiting to see if I was going to hit it. But when I finally got up to leave, it was like a mad rush to get on my machine, they were hoping to be the one to win. It was kind of funny.

Priscilla, Riley & Lisa Marie Presley

Three generations of Presley women. Priscilla, Lisa Marie and her daughter Riley. I think Elvis would have been so proud of all of them. You can see a little of Elvis in all of them. Don't you think.

Mariah Carey ties Elvis on singles chart

Can you believe this, this article was printed in the NY Associated press.
Mariah Carey's "Don't Forget About Us" rose to the top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart, putting her in a tie with Elvis Presley for second place among artists with the most No. 1 singles in the rock era. Carey and Presley have 17 No. 1 hits, second only to the Beatles, who had 20. (Some music sources report Presley had 18 No. 1 hits by counting the double-sided single "Don't Be Cruel" and "Hound Dog" as two hits instead of one.)

Lisa Marie Pregnant
I'm sure all you Elvis fans already know the good news that Lisa Marie is expecting again. And it's twins. She found out that one is a boy. Lisa Marie turned 40 on Feb. 1. and she confirms her pregnancy on her my-space acct. which is pretty cool, you can link to her site in my link list. Lisa Marie and her husband have been trying for over a year to get pregnant so everyone is so excited about the good news, I wish her all the best with her pregnancy and the babies.

Priscilla Presley on Dancing with the Stars
Last night was the womens turn on Dancing with the stars. Priscilla Presley did a great job, she danced the fox trot, and looked really elegant. Did you know she will turn 63 this May. I think the only bad thing I noticed is that she must have had a major facelift or maybe too much botox, because her face seemed a little plastic. But I think it was really cool that Lisa Marie (who is pregnant) was in the audience cheering her on and she got a standing ovation.

Hey Svengoolie fans
So if you are from Chicago, I'm sure you've watched Svengoolie. We watch it almost every Saturday night. Last week was The Invisible man. God, I don't think I've seen that one since I was a kid. It was so funny the police were running around like they were the keystone cops, and the villagers all looked so strange, and that woman screaming, geez, it was pretty entertaining. Anyway, I had totally forgot that he gets killed at the end, (sorry to ruin it for anyone that didnt see it) but I was amazed the cops could figure out how to get him. And then I went on to the Svengoolie blog site and I wanted to leave a message, but it wouldnt take it. I even joined up on the "live journal" site to leave a message. no luck. so I was wondering has anyone else been able to leave a message or am I doing something wrong?

Survivor-Fan or favorites
Oh, poor Jonathan. Just when I was starting to like him this year, he gets injured and has to leave the show. Boy that was a heart wrenching scene also. In case you are wondering, I’m talking about Survivor. That is my favorite show to stay home and watch. I’ve been watching that show since the beginning. Yes starting with Richard. But honestly I was so thrilled that they finally got rid of Chet!!. He was so totally useless! But, lets see, so far I’m not liking any of the fans. And in my opinion, Ozzy should win. I think he is one of the best players. But of course, I bet you he will be voted out by the other less talented ones because he is such a threat to them. That leaves James, he is a close second to winning, but there again, I’m sure they’re gonna get rid of him also. I think next week Kathy” or Cirie should be one of the ones that will go. Then hopefully followed by Eliza she is so annoying. Then that just leaves a bunch of others who flew under the radar so far that could possibly win.

Hollyhocks
These are my favorite flowers in my garden. They are Hollyhocks. I have the red ones, but they come in all different colors. They can grow really tall and have beautiful flowers up the stem. I've known other people who said their hollyhocks grew 14 ft. tall. They remind me of a victorian english garden. I believe mine are biennials, they reseed themselves, so I get a new crop every year. They are really easy to take care of and if you stake them they won't fall over.

My Dinner Dates.....

Have you heard this one before, it was going around the library today. People were asking-"if you could have dinner with 3 people, dead or alive, who would you choose? and why" Well I think obviously, my first choice would be Elvis himself. I think it would be interesting to see what he thinks about his popularity now, and what he even thought about it back then. My second choice would be Abraham Lincoln. I wonder what he would think about our country now and to see an african-american and a woman running for president. And my last choice would be my mom. Yes, I think that we would have a really interesting conversation. So who would you choose?

Is there a novel in there? Nope, just a short blog!

I’ve heard it said that everyone has a novel in them. Well I don’t know if that’s true or not but I think we all have a couple of good short stories in us. I told a friend that I was writing my blog, and she said to me “Who do you think you are! What makes you think people want to hear about your life.” (Dam, do I want to be friends with her). But another person said, “Wow, that’s so cool”. One other person said “Oh you’re an Elvis lover, so your blogs all about that, huh”, I said “No, that’s just one part of me, a small descriptive of who I am. That’s the title, but there are many chapters.” So, I’ve had mixed reactions. Everyone has the choice to either read my stories or move on. That’s the beauty of the internet, you can surf around. In my earlier blogs, I wrote how this all started as a work project. But it’s kind of exciting writing things and putting them out there for everyone to see and read, and then you wait for a comment (hopefully good).
I think of my blog space as “personal reflections”. Little tidbits of my life, things I like, my family, some nice pictures, and yes a little bit of Elvis thrown in. Hopefully, you will enjoy! When I was younger I never kept a diary or wrote my feelings down anywhere because I was always scared someone would find it and read it. Do you remember the Brady bunch episode when Marcia's diary was s
